  • How much do you charge to prepare a tax return?
Because no two tax returns are the same, it's hard to put a fixed price on a tax return before preparing it. Multiple factors go into the pricing of your return including, but not limited to, the number of forms your personal return requires, the complexity of those forms, the time needed to take your information and get it into the tax return, additional time needed to compile information, meeting's with the client, etc. Our starting price for Individual Returns is $200.
  • How long does it take your firm to prepare a return?
We strive to provide clients with a quick turnaround on their tax returns. If you are able to drop off your information at our office and all required documents are there, the organizer is completed, and no additional items come up that delay your return's preparation, we generally can have your return done in 7-10 days from the date you drop off. Missing, incomplete, or unorganized information will delay the turnaround.
  • I received a letter from the IRS. What should I do?
The first thing you should always do when you receive a letter or notice from the IRS is contact your accountant. Often times, letters/notices from the IRS have a threatening tone, and can cause panic to the taxpayer. The majority of IRS issues can easily be resolved. Your accountant will need you to bring a copy of your letter to our office, or upload it to us through the website so that we can review it.
  • What are my risks of being audited?
The average American citizen has less than 1% chance of being audited in any given year. Despite the low risk in having your file pulled for audit from the IRS, we still recommend you keep copies of all tax return documents for at least seven years.
  • I just started a business. What accounting software should I use?
We generally recommend that our clients set up their company's books in QuickBooks. The simplicity of the user interface, ability to run payroll and reports, accountants features, and low cost make it a great option for businesses of any size. As a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, we offer a variety of QuickBooks services, including training and on-site QuickBooks assistance. Give us a call. We'd love to assist you with your QuickBooks needs.
  • I'm not sure what information I need to bring for my tax return. What should I bring?
Every January we mail out to our existing clients a Client Organizer that will help you compile your tax information for us. It includes prior year figures, and will assist you in reminding you of items you had in prior years that you may need to gather for the current year's return. If you have new items, like a new business, new rental home, etc., and need assistance with gathering up that information, please visit our "Forms" page located under the resources tab. We have included blank organizer forms for new items such as these. If you are a new client, and need an organizer for the first time, a blank organizer and questionnaire can be found on the forms page as well.
